Kicking off our very first renovation meeting was an “experience debrief” of ASA diners - how they’ve enjoyed the food and what is the “extra mile” we could do for an even better experience. This customer-centric approach has given us room to explore ways to “awaken the senses” of our customers thoroughly. One of the principal elements of design, especially in F&B, is to “trigger emotions” and “sense of place” in those visiting. It’s time for interior design to shine! Continually adapting to the passage of time, Contemporary - the modern style - thrives on the fusion and reinvention of characteristic elements from various styles. It places a greater emphasis on spatial dynamics, leveraging a minimalist yet refined layout composed of bold lines, geometric shapes, and daring color palettes.

With its contemporary flair, this restaurant style preserves traditional values while keeping aesthetics in tune with the present. The harmonious combination of warm colors and original interior materials evokes a welcoming and intimate ambiance for patrons stepping foot into ASA Bistro.

The design scheme retains the brand's signature color palette, employing dark rosewood as a striking element to ensure seamless transitions and avoid monotony.

The restrooms are transformed into distinct spaces, through the deliberate use of dark green—a decisive shift in tone, adding an element of surprise for guests. Geometric patterns in interior design, when thoughtfully integrated, offer visual equilibrium and captivating appeal within the space. These decorative patterns introduce an illusion of height and expands the overall space.

For this project, TD has presented several options to overcome the constraints of a small and narrow space, as well as varying ceiling heights, in order to transform ASA Bistro with a fresh new look.

By using minimalist furniture designs, the team achieves a clean and uncluttered aesthetic. The pieces feature slender profiles and sleek lines, creating a sense of openness within the limited space.

A notable highlight of this project is the creative integration of geometric patterns which inspire the space with a refreshing and spacious feel. The stylized rendition of the letters "A" and "S" in the name ASA adds a delightful touch.

Upon arriving at the restaurant, the focal point that immediately captures attention is the image of a girl wearing a conical hat and sunglasses, blending traditional and modern elements in a unique and youthful fashion. Once the visual appeal is satisfied, the tactile senses will come into play. Raw details are prominently featured, with exposed pipes or textured wall panels adding an intriguing rustic touch. The polished stone floor with simple patterns or purposefully cut ceramic tiles on the walls further contribute to the overall aesthetic.

ASA Bistro's unique essence blends with contemporary and retro elements, creating a distinctive masterpiece by TD architects. The space becomes an artistic experience that captivates and engages the senses.

Getting feedback from the “end-users'' has always been a privilege. After a conversation with ASA Founder a month after re-opening, it’s a very humble and grateful feeling to hear our creative effort has been very well-received. Another mission accomplished!
