Reviving the spirit of the Mekong Delta in the heart of the city

\Amid the bustling rhythm of Saigon, Yumbox appears like a pocket of memories awakened from the tranquil waters of the Mekong Delta. Inspired by the iconic Cái Bè Floating Market, TD architects reimagines the vivid colors and cheerful energy of the river culture where boats glide past one another, fruit stalls overflow with produce, and laughter fills the air.

Yumbox is more than just a restaurant; it’s a space where diners can feel the warmth and authenticity of the countryside, captured through simple yet refined design details.

Colors of memory and fresh energy

TD architects selected a color palette of terracotta, yellow, and green - tones that symbolize sunlight, earth, and foliage, shaping the very soul of Yumbox.

• Terracotta evokes warmth and familiarity – the color of sunset over the river.
• Yellow represents positivity and endless joy.
• Green brings calmness and a natural sense of connection.

These hues are carefully balanced to create a lively yet harmonious visual rhythm.

Soft amber lighting gently tones down the bright accents, allowing the space to remain cozy and visually soothing throughout the day.

An open space where emotions flow

Yumbox’s layout was crafted with flexibility to maximize natural light and openness. Materials such as wood, handmade tiles, painted steel, and woven rattan were thoughtfully combined to form a natural and authentic foundation. Every element from the service counter and seating arrangements to the display zones is purposefully placed, creating a sense of movement and vibrancy reminiscent of a riverside market, yet refined with a contemporary aesthetic.

The result is a dining space that feels both lively and relaxing – an ideal place for friendly gatherings, casual dates, or simply a peaceful moment amid the city’s energy.
