AKA House – a project by TD architects, harmoniously blending the essence of Vietnamese traditional garden houses with Mid-Century style, creating a balanced and sustainable living space.

Inspiration from the Vietnamese traditional garden house

Taking inspiration from the traditional Vietnamese garden house with its wide eaves and airy structure, the communal living spaces seamlessly connect generations of family members. In this project, TD architects chose interiors that carry the clean lines and geometric forms of Mid-Century style, complemented by handcrafted details and traditional materials, resulting in a design that feels both familiar and refreshing.

AKA House is built from materials deeply rooted in Vietnamese culture, such as terracotta, washed stone, terrazzo, and natural wood. Each detail showcases rustic durability and tells a story of the bond between people and nature.

The exclusive 70-30-10 Color palette

The color scheme is applied according to TD architects’ signature ratio:

• 70% soft neutrals such as beige, cream, and white, creating a light and airy backdrop.

• 30% warm tones from wood and terracotta, evoking a sense of closeness and emotional grounding.

• 10% natural greens, thoughtfully placed in corners to ease the eyes and balance the composition.

Library – A space for storage and creativity

A floor-to-ceiling bookshelf expands storage capacity while also serving as a display for the home’s integrated library and workspace. The open-shelf design creates a tidy yet airy atmosphere, striking a balance between functionality and aesthetics.

Rooftop – A sustainable ecological layer

On the rooftop, a green space acts as an ecological buffer, reducing direct solar radiation, regulating roof temperature, and cooling the rooms below. This solution not only enhances comfort for the homeowners but also contributes to energy savings for cooling.
